What I've been doing

What have I been doing lately? Well THAT is a very good question.

On Monday my dad and I had an eye appointment in Kingsport, so we went up there and saw the doc and spent the day together. :) The rest of the week I have been doing school work, wrapping presents, getting ready for Christmas, and looking at stuff on the internet. I am trying to pass the time as quickly as possible because I am just SOO excited for Christmas and seeing all my family! I have my aunt Ginger, uncle Travis, and little cousin Emberlee coming all the way from Connecticut for Christmas, and we are all going to my aunt Gina's and uncle Jason's house for the weekend after Christmas to do a Christmas thing. There I will get to see my Papaw and Laura, Gina, Jason, Drew and Jasee (Cousins), and Ginger, Travis and Emberlee! All my other family on my moms side will be there too. I AM GETTING WAY OFF TRACK! I AM JUST SO EXCITED!! Christmas is just my favorite time of year! I will do another post either before or after Christmas!

12/12/12, Birthdays, and Christmas!

 Well ... Yesterday was 12/12/12, the last day with 3 repeating numbers we will ever see. It makes me sad. But TODAY is my awesome aunt Stacy's birthday!! SO happy birthday Stacy!! Today is also my friend Cassia's birthday!! So happy 13th birthday to an awesome friend!! Hope you have a good one! AND today  is Taylor Swift's birthday!! Happy Birthday Taylor! 

And tomorrow is my uncle Shane's birthday! So happy early birthday Shane! 

My cousin Jasee has a birthday on Dec. 18! 

My Papaw Roy has a birthday on Dec. 18! 

And on December 23rd, it will be my mom and aunt Tonya's birthday (they are twins). :)

Lots of birthdays this month!! 

And the most important birthday of all... Jesus' birthday! YES! Christmas is only 12 days away! So in the midst of all the excitement, remember the true reason of the holiday! 

I AM REALLY EXCITED ABOUT CHRISTMAS!! :)

BIG Everyday Problems

Hey everyone! I have recently been doing a lot of research on harmful chemicals in everyday products we use around the house. I have found out that pretty much EVERYTHING we use is harmful to us in some way, even drinking water! I have a pretty big list of chemicals. I encourage you to go around your house looking for these chemicals in products such as makeup, lip balm/chap stick, shampoo, conditioner, soaps (body wash, hand soap, dish soap, bar soap), shaving cream, deodorant, toothpaste, mouthwash, fingernail polish, fingernail polish remover, any hair product, lotion, body oils,  and anything else hygiene and/or beauty related. 

• Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, sodium Laureth Sulfate
• Petroleum Jelly, Petroleum, Petrolatum
• Mineral oil
• Propylene Glycol
• Nylon and Micro fiber (found in some mascara)
• Parabens
• Acetone (found in some fingernail polish remover)
• Aluminum
• Dibutyl phthalate
• Triclosan (AKA irgasan DP 300, lexol 300, Ster-Zac, Cloxifenolum, BioFresh, Microban) (this is found in most toothpaste!)
• Mercury, arsenic, lead, cadmium
• Ethanol, ethyl acetrate
• Chlorine (tap water, swimming pools)
• Lead (found in some lipstick)

Also, some people have different opinions, but baby oil and body/massage oils also can be harmful, and if ingested can even kill you! Petroleum or Petroleum Jelly can also be harmful, and doesn't even add moisture to skin, but rather blocks moisture from entering! I don't know EVERY little detail, but I do know that chemicals are slowly making people sick in our country and our world today. You can go to Google 

 and search Harmful chemicals in everyday products and read up on all the chemicals that are out there. I suggest also looking up Mineral Oil and read all the bad things its use causes. A lot of these chemicals are linked to skin disorders, diseases, cancer, and even death! 

If we are everyday putting more and more of these toxic chemicals into our bodies we will eventually get sick. There is NO WAY AROUND IT! And not only are we going to get sick, but we aren't taking care of the bodies God gave us. He wants us to be healthy and able to do things not be pumped full of toxic chemicals and sick!  

So right now, I'm pretty pumped to make change happen! Aren't you? That's why when I get older, I want to be a cosmetic chemist/cosmetologist so I can make hair, skin, and makeup products that are not harmful in ANY way to you.

And I plan on making some homemade recipes that really work (much research to be done first!) and test them out and let you know how they work so you can try them (yes I will be the guinea pig).

BCFs!

So what does BCF stand for? Best Cousins Forever of course! I love all my cousins the same so they are all my BCFs, but today I'm talking about Ariana (aka Ana, Ana Faith, Lucy, Sissy Faith, Sissy, the list goes on and on!) Tonight I am spending the night with her. This is not uncommon, because we do this almost every weekend! On almost every weekend I come over to her house or she comes to mine on Friday night and we have the best time! We both LOVE singing and love doing it together even more together. Maybe some time I will post a video of us singing together. We are really more like sisters than cousins (our moms are actually twins)! We are 2 years apart.... but we still have so much fun! Ana just got a blog and she is super excited about it so go check it out HERE and follow her and chat with her in the chat box! Also... yes I'm going to say it again because the more the merrier... My Weekend

So, this weekend I have been with my grandparents (AKA Mamaw and Papaw, Granna and Papaw). Yesterday and last night I was with Mamaw and Papaw. Today and Tomorrow I am/will be with Granna and Papaw. Mom and Dad went to West Virginia for the weekend so we get to spend the weekend with them! I have had a lot of fun so far.

Another little fact about me... I HAVE STICK STRAIGHT HAIR. No curl, no wave, no volume, just flat, straight hair. And the only way I can get my hair curly (Without using a curling iron and a TON of hairspray) is curlers (I use rag curlers a lot) or overnight braids. So tonight.... the braids are in and I'm hoping for pretty waves tomorrow.

Snow In Fall

YES!! It IS snowing... and yes..we do have about 10in. of it... and yes.... it IS just a little more than a month into fall. So today I got to wear my BIG winter coat! It is very, very, very cold outside.... about 36 degrees. So now.. there is pretty much NO leaves on the trees :(. That is very sad, I know. The trees were just beginning to look so pretty, turning their pretty AUTUMN colors. But on the bright side, we now have pretty white snow! Christmas seems so much closer now.. and we haven't even had Thanksgiving yet! Welcome to fall in SW Virginia!!!

Fabulous Fall

Fall is one of my favorite seasons. The weather starts to turn cold and I can get out my sweaters, I get to start wearing my boots (YAY!), all the yummy fall foods like pumpkin pie and cookies and drinks like hot apple cider and hot chocolate, Thanksgiving,and most of all the BEAUTIFUL fall colors! I love fall so mush!! And it's only that much closer to Christmas!! And you don't want to even get me started about Christmas!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas!! It's my very favorite holiday!!

So... I will try as hard as I can to get fall pictures up soon!

It was a great night! The cake (and cupcakes) were AWESOME (tasting and looking). And there was the BEST BBQ in the world there, made by Gridiron Hogs BBQ. And I'm not just saying it's the best because my dad and uncle make it! Check them out!

Hey everyone! I decided I would post a little about myself.
